Company owner Tony Roberts was given a little toy elephant at a very young age by one of his very favorite people. His Aunt Opal couldn’t have known that she was planting a seed that would grow into a lifetime of collectibles, intrigue and general fascination with these real life large creatures.
It started with drawings of elephants and watching them on any nature program he could find. Once the knowledge of his love for elephants was known, the collectibles started! Many birthdays, holidays and housewarmings later he had found himself with over 200 elephant items. Even though there has been a slow down on the collecting he still enjoys finding (or being gifted) that unique item from time to time. His fascination has only continued provoking many to refer to him as the elephant man.
Tony’s father was very particular about the “yard work” when he was a child. It was one of Tony’s least favorite chores. After buying a home in East Point, Georgia (adjacent to the historic Fort McPherson) He suddenly grew a love for the aforementioned “yard work”. Suddenly it became a stress reducing pleasure to create something in his yard. Along came Angela and Tom needing some help with the lawn at the house next door. All those childhood tips/chores from Mom and Dad came flooding back and gave birth to a growing business. The love of beautiful lawns and elephants merged into The Lawn Elephant.
You didn’t actually think a real elephant would be in your yard … did you?
